POWER DOES NOT TURN ON:

1. Check circuit breakers on rear panel.
2. Check outlet.

POWER TURNS ON (FAN ON) BUT MICROPROCESSOR DOES NOT LIGHT UP:

1. Check 3 plugs from controller to side panel.
2. Check fuses on controller.
3. Check connector inside side cover. Make sure plug is secure.

MICROPROCESSOR COMES ON BUT DISPLAY IS SCRAMBLED:

1. Turn power off then turn back on. If display remains scrambled chances are you have had a line spike and your controller has been damaged.
2. Remove controller and plug directly into a wall socket. If display remains scrambled contact the Count service dept.

TRANSPORT "LOCKS UP" WHEN RUN BUTTON IS PRESSED:

1. Remove perf shafts and press run. If transport operates smoothly with shafts out the probable cause for the "lock up" is the perf shafts not seated correctly on the shaft collars.
2. Perf shafts not seated properly. Remove shafts and press run. If transport operates smoothly with shafts out, replace shafts and refer to "Replacing the Perf Shafts".
3. Perf assembly is dirty. With shafts removed, check blade guard on upper perf and chip remover on lower perf. These should turn freely. If not, disassemble and clean and lubricate.

TRANSPORT "LOCKS UP" AFTER NUMBERING HEAD STAMPS:

1. Turn off power. Turn on power and watch controller go through the self diagnosis countdown. If any series of numbers (i.e. 999999999 or 66666666) is missing contact the Count service dept.
2. Program machine to number in medium speed. If machine operates properly in medium, there is a possibility that the driver box is bad.
3. Drive belt could be too tight.
4. Possibility of damage to microprocessor due to a line spike. This can usually be remedied by inserting a new main chip.
5. Check gears and pulleys to make sure they are securely tightened.

• FEED TABLE NOT FEEDING CORRECTLY:

1. Clean feed wheel rollers.
2. Bent or worn parts on the paper caliper.
3. Refer to "Adjusting the Paper Retard Spring."

• SHEETS NOT FEEDING STRAIGHT:

1. Clean ALL rubber rollers.
2. Align feed table rails.
3. Check forwarding rollers. Make sure the set screws are snug.
4. Check burr wheels. Make sure they turn freely. Lubricate with WD-40 occasionally.

• NOT REGISTERING:

1. Clean rollers.
2. Check pressure on burr wheels above main roller. If these are not down firmly, your registration will be off.

•NUMBER APPEARS BLURRY:

1. Head is not level. Refer to "Leveling a Head."
2. Not enough pressure. Adjust with height adjustment screw.
3. Ink cartridge is empty or flow of ink is not consistent.

• PERFORATION IS NOT CLEAN OR CUTS SHEET:

1. Blade is worn. Pull perf assembly and inspect tips of blade. Should be cupped in a u-shape. If they appear flat, replace blade. See "Replacing a Perf Blade."

• PERF IS NOT STRAIGHT:

1. Check for equal pressure on all burr wheels and that none are hanging up.
2. Make sure forwarding rollers set screws are snut and in position.
3. Check feed rails and align.

• HEAD FIRES BUT NUMBER DOES NOT ADVANCE:

1. Too much pressure, solenoid cannot make full stroke.
2. Ink cartridge or repeat selector too close to sensor or forwarding roller.
3. Head is dirty. Clean with Count Clean & Lube.

• NUMBERS TURN OUT OF SEQUENCE:

1. Head is dirty.
2. Head has been damaged by using blanket wash to clean.
